Just want to know if i have this right.
I have designed a project in solidworks
Export as STL
Open STL in slic3r (have loaded the ini from github)
My understanding of how it all works, i should now be able to take the gcode file from slic3r throw it on an SD card and it should print?
or am i missing something?
That’s pretty much correct, yeah. I’m not sure how reliable our printers are at the moment, @Zap was working on these last I checked.
Make sure to check the settings for exporting stls in Solidworks. Standard seems to produce “low poly” style things.
The settings that are used in slic3r are crucial to the success and quality of your print. Make sure to be familiar with the machine and its specific likings, querks and shortcomins.
