Hi I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the Australian Standards Safety of Laser Products?
You can get it from the Australian National Library Main Room for reading only…
Or you can buy it for $250 one print copy.
AS/NZS IEC 60825.1:2014
Safety of laser products - Equipment classification and requirements
Someone feel free to tell.me I’m wrong.
I believ that all the AS stuff is written for.medical lasers and yet to catch up with industrial/hobby equipment
Hi Thanks Dynamite for your reply.
I believe that if you are operating a class 3B laser or above for non-ionising laser radiation a suitable enclosure is required and the AS does apply under federal law. The AS laser safety document outlines the requirements for a laser enclosure.
Your best bet would be one of the engineering students at the space as they should have access to standards online through their uni library…
