Hi HSBNE! My name is Tom.

I’ve just joined after finding you on Google and I’d like to introduce myself.
I joined because I simply enjoy making things, such as knives, woodworking (or even making rings from brass fittings from bunnings) :upside_down_face:.

My day job is working in digital marketing, but I have recently taken some time off to reassess and really focus on creating for the next 3-4 months.

In the past, I have dabbled in knife making, and hope to get back into it. My latest hobby is attempting to make some furniture. So whilst researching which job site table saw is the quietest (so as not to disturb the neighbours) I came across HSBNE. First thing I’m trying to make is small two side tables from silky oak.

Looking forward to meeting you all and learning as much as I can!

Hey Tom

One of our boys, who has since gone home over seas, made stunning knives. So I can fully assure you we have all the equipment required to make awesome knives. And I am always happy to discus knife builds, and a few cool tricks I picked up from Kris, Regards shaping handles.

I don’t know heaps about knife making but am keen to chip in or make conversation where it would be useful. If your interested in the forge, I should be able to help out there too :grinning:

You’ll settle in to the woodshop well. Ale runs the woodshop, so keep an eye on the Chanel for inductions to use equipment. I also find Ale is very tolerant of stupid questions, and when it comes to safety, no question is stupid.

Anyways. I’m going to eat something. Have fun
