How To: Cause

Hello,

Here a little writeup what you have to do if you want to start a cause.
I made a checklist that I handed out during the initial champion meeting. Clarifications are with all the points.
If there is any more questions, feel free to ask and I will keep this post up to date.

We want to see a timeline on most of the points.
As in:

When will the area be usable and set up? What are the stages to get to a workable area? What dates will these stages be achieved? What date will the cleaning equipment be bought? When is the first class?

We want to see a solid plan with a reasonable time-frame. Latest deadline to have everything set up: 20th of February 2015

What is a solid plan:

Cleaning will be done weekly, rotating members, list on the wall for signing of on the cleaning jobs. Monthly classes will be held by person X on every last someday of the month. We will teach x,y and especially Z. Meetings will be held once a month. Maintenance of machinery is handled by person X. Broken tools are to be reported via pigeon to person Y.

Cause champion checklist

  • Development plan (What is going to happen, When will it happen, deadlines! How is security handled?)

  • Cleaning plan (How is the area kept clean?)

  • Maintenance plan (How is the upkeep of the tools/machinery/consumables handled? Who is responsible for what?)

  • Classes plan (How are classes handled) @Nadine is happy to help. She got years of experience with running classes.

  • How is introduction to tools/equipment/machinery handled?

  • Register with the treasurer

  • Walkthrough report forms (can be found at: )

  • Where to announce meetings? (In your thread on this forum in the cause subforum. If a cause gets big enough it gets its own subforum)

  • Create a page on our wiki. All the above stated info publicly visible on the wiki. Meeting notes to be put onto the wiki.

I hope that clarified most questions.

The causes as of 25th of January 2015
