Guys, I’m getting the next stage of plans together for the metal shop, so I’d love if we can get as many of you there as possible so we can discuss the plans going forward. They roughly involve:

DISCUSSION
*monthly professionally-run workshops (welding, turning, milling)
*monthly member-run inductions (welding, turning, milling, drilling)
*interlocks and how they’re going to work
*issues around maintenance of equipment/large amount of things getting wrecked continually/equipment champions.

VOTE REQUIRED
*implementation of a rolling $200 monthly budget for inductions (all of that money will come back to the cause + interest, and members will be paid for the induction they run)

Some very good discussion was had around interlocks, ‘policing’ our equipment and working out what we’re going to spend our excess grant money on, including potential things such as press brakes, guillotines, hot/cold saw. I’ll do some looking over the next week and see what I can come up with.
