I’m interested in building some open source systems for logging batteries, a 48V solar system. I want to get people educated on this off grid community about our battery system health to improve interaction. I’d like to extend its monitoring to DC current input off the panels and AC current used by the property, and remote monitoring.
The last system, 10 years old is no longer supported. such a waste, but hey thats just good advertising for open source being the future.
Being able to use some of the 433MHZ RF systems for data transmission interests me with rasberry pi, been looking at the http://openenergymonitor.org but their hardware from the UK seems pretty expensive like everything over there.
Before I start to order some of this stuff and build my own I wanted to see if anyone here has had experience or done research into such things.
