She Skills Workshop - Woodwork for Women - Now FREE!

Hi She Members of HSBNE

We are newish members and starting a business called She Skills teaching basic woodworking and power tools skills for women. We ran our first pilot program last weekend and it went really well. We are running another one next Saturday 21st November from 3-6pm and I have 4 places available if you would like to attend. We are looking to launch our business in 2016 and would love your feedback.

About your instructors

Clint is a trade qualified cabinet maker with 20 years experience in building everything from solid timber furniture to fancy exhibition stands to sets for major theatrical productions. He also has a Diploma of Scenery and Set Construction. Clint was also an accomplished national gymnast in his time and now coaches gymnastics full time.

Meg has been his side kick, trusty trades assistant and wife for 15 years. She is a qualified and experienced Work Health and Safety Adviser and has many years experience working in the mining and construction industries, and up until recently taught leadership and management at to trades people.

We both love teaching people new skills!!

Cost

The cost of the workshop is now FREE as we have a generous donation to cover the costs!!

We look forward to helping you develop new skills and the confidence to use and pass them onto the sisterhood. During the workshop we will cover:

  • Basic timber construction methods and joints
  • Safe use of hand and power tools
  • Timber knowledge, preparation and finishing
  • Construction of a shadow box which you can take home and mount on your wall
  • Basic principles of hazard and risk management

You should wear clothes that can get dirty and solid covered shoes (joggers). We’ll supply everything else. By participating you agree to letting us use your image on She Skills promotional material such as our website and social media. We are also promoting HSBNE!!
